TYPES OF CELLS
Prokarytes
Eukarytes
Prokarytes
- Only bacteria have prokaryotic cells.
- Prokaryotes have no nucleus. They have free-floating circular loop DNA.
- They do not have membrane-bound organelles.
- They are single-celled, have simple structures, & are very small.
- Earth's oldest & most abundant cells.
Eukarytes
- Protists, fungi, plants, & animals have eukaryotic cells.
- They protect their DNA in a nucleus.
- They have membrane-bound organelles.
- They evolved from prokaryotes and have complex cells that are capable of performing many tasks.
